Superb info! Thanks!
Instead of a cup of ice in the attic and then running out side to see the gages can you just unhook the condensers fan? Then watch the gages from a chair?
Ive got an R22 system that has 55 degree air coming out of the vents. Low side pressure of 70psig high side pressure of 170psig. I feel like the high side is too low. 85 degree day outside.
The charging hose has air when you hooked it up to the tee. The small space after the shutoff valve is dead air space. Needs a better setup maybe?
Superb info! Thank you very much!
Just found your channel. I have been having HVAC/Furnace issues with my drain line so have been looking at UA-cam to better understand what I don’t know. I have seen a lot of videos on drain lines, p-traps, air exchangers and exchange coils and this is THE BEST of all that I have seen. Your explain the different requirements for air handlers HVAC), exchange coils (Furnace) , and mini split systems. FANTASTIC. Thank you!
A half a gallon of Clorox bleach well completely clean out your line .
good
I know the video is old, but I’m troubleshooting the blower motor on my unit now. I need to do the checks you discussed in this video. I did the hand test and cannot spin the shaft freely. It is hard to turn. When I took the shaft out, the bearings seem to spin freely but the permanent magnet rotor spins rough when it is inserted. I noticed a lot of black residue in the house in where the magnet rotor spins. I wonder if I should replace the bearings and clean the housing from debris?
You have a 20 amp breaker inside but what about the disconnect outside?
How hard would it be for Fieldpiece to add a wireless input for ODDB in the app or on the SMAN 380V?
This is the best explanation you have ever seen, heard or know if. Thank you. I'm starting out as a diy, considering a trade if needed. Very helpful. To diagnose anything you have to know the basics.
Coolest name ever
Amrad's are a solid choice
While the system was running, my guages were reading equal pressures on both high and low sides. I checked the capacitor, and it was good. Disconnected all three wires to the compressor, I was reading 1.3 ohms between the 2 terminals and OL between the other 2 terminals. My guess compressor is bad.
Is the refrigerant has to be upside down like that ? I had an issue with my split’s inside unit it build up frost after an hour of turning the ac .. when the technician came “ which I’m not sure he’s totally a professional because he was the only one available “ he checked and says it need refill and refill it but the the tank was in normal positions not like this position and the AC was running while doing that.. should I do something about ti ?
watched a lot of these videos. just charge to 38 degrees on the pink scale for R-410a. that's what it almost always comes out to
This is a pretty good video. I was explaining this to my customer. After I left my customer, I decided to look up a video and this is exactly how I explained it to him.
Although I’m sure sponsored, nice to see someone make a video that didn’t say you had to use MQ and True Flow or you’re a hack.
"GWP" is absolutely MEANINGLESS as long as China and India are allowed to spew whatever they choose into the air and the water. We, the US, are already the cleanest industrialized nation. Someone tell me why we should be burdened so heavily
absolutely instructional keep up the good work
What is mfd?
Does this work with automotive AC, using r134a or YF1234?
Thank you for sharing the information with the interested audience. This is very detailed and informative video on the mini splits. Thank you once again for taking the time to create and share this video. God bless you.
I had one fail the other day on my upstairs AC obviously due to the heat. It's been consistently upper 90s the past few weeks in GA.
Superheat takes place in the top of the units and compressor. Sub cooling takes place at bottom of the units and metering device.
A couple weeks ago, when I turned my central air on, it wasn’t cooling. I had forgotten to take the cover off the unit. Now I’m finding that it has stopped working. I changed the batteries and circuit breakers and they’re all good but unable to check the rest. Hard to do with no man around. 😂
Does which wire goes to where matter for the igniter? I was trying to replace mine and cannot remember which one went to which side of the igniter.
Compressor - pressure raiser Condenser - heat rejector Metering device - pressure dropper Evaporator - heat absorber
I don't understand how taking a low pressure (vapor line) reading at the condenser translates to the pressure in the evaporator. Why is it not industry standard to take low pressure (vapor line) reading at the evaporator?
Hi I have a MXZ-8C-60NA2 total 4 zones new set up 3 zones working fine as as I turn 4th zone my suction line goes down below 50psi or 10° 2-3 hours later error code 1501 , when I turn on heat mode my suction line goes to RETARD above 350psi I checked all communication wires all matching, planing on disconnecting high side on the branch box for that particular 4th zone see if my workers forgot to remove cup from the branch box flaring part 🤔 There is 1x MXZ-8C-60NA2 also 4 zones doing amazing job I have total 2x MXZ-8C-60NA2 8 zones at this particular job site in Queens ny. Any advice would be appreciated!!! I watched most of your content good info!!!, thank you for putting all the effort 🙏
Thanks! Just saved me a whole lot of money.
Probably a stupid question, but if I've already figured out that the blower motor is the problem, how do i know if the motor is an 825 or 1075 rpm model? I can't find anything to match part numbers to the rheem website from the information panel on the main ac into.
The best aircon video in UA-cam ❤
What was the recommended amount of refrigerant on the name plate? How much was in system at the start and what was the total amount at the rnd of this demonstration?
Adapters for absolutely no reason literally
I've never seen an HVAC technician attach a temperature sensor to the equipment at my home.
Another reason, if it was made in China. It will fail soon, when you least expect it.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great video, thank you!!
What about the 24v thermostat wires?
So basically it's making sure that all the refrigerant is boiled off into a low pressure vapor state by time it reaches the end of it's time in the evaporator. "Give me more, I can boil more" or "Hold on, I'm boiling all I can." in a constant dynamic flux.
This method doesn't always work with inverter variable speed equipment that change the superheat target based on various logics.
Inverters usually don’t have fixed orifices.
I like using core depressors so I don't need to spin on/off quickly.
